Speak to Quote works for electricians. Say the job as you walk the property — the board, the sockets, the lights, the certificate at the end — and get back an editable, priced, VAT-aware quote with your registration on it, ready to send before you're back in the van.
A customer with two quotes in front of them is not comparing the totals. They are looking for the things they have been told to look for, and they are comparing line by line. Put these on every one.
For notifiable domestic work in England and Wales, Part P of the Building Regulations means the job has to be certified — by a registered competent person (NICEIC, NAPIT or another scheme) or through building control. Customers are told to check for that, so put the scheme and your number in the header, where they will look for it.
An Electrical Installation Certificate for a new circuit or a consumer unit change; a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate for an addition to an existing circuit. Naming it reassures the customer and fixes the scope of the job in one line.
"Consumer unit change" and "two double sockets in the kitchen" are two lines, not one figure. A customer can see what each part costs, and can take a line off without asking you to re-quote.
If you are VAT-registered, the VAT line and the rate; if you are not, a line that says so. A quote that is silent on VAT is the one that gets the "is that plus VAT?" phone call.
Cable and board prices move. Thirty days is common; whatever you choose, print it, so a customer who comes back in March is not holding you to November's price.
A deposit for materials and the balance on certification, say; and that chasing, making good and decoration are someone else's work unless a line says otherwise.
A consumer unit change with a few extras, said once, into a phone. The prices are illustrative — yours come from your own price book, or from what you say.
What you said

Every line is what you said, in the order you said it, with the quantity picked out. Nothing on it was invented: a line whose price is not in your price book comes back at £0 for you to fill in, never with a made-up figure. Edit any line, take one off, add one, then send.
Set your trade to electrician in Business details and the extraction is worded for it — a "double socket" is a line item with a quantity, "off the ring" is its description, and "certificate on completion" lands on the consumer unit line rather than as a line of its own.
Your registrations go in the header. Add NICEIC, NAPIT or any scheme as a label and a number, and it prints under your company name on every quote and estimate — with the scheme badges along the bottom if you upload them.
Your prices are yours. Put "Double socket — supplied and fitted" in the price book once and every dictated socket comes back priced. Save a consumer unit change as a job template and it is one tap, or just say "the board change package, plus two extra sockets".
On Pro, the plan does the counting. Attach the electrical layout and the AI counts the sockets, switches and lights off the drawing; the prices still come from your book.
Not sure yet? Build it as an estimate. It is labelled as one, the footer says the final price may vary, and it turns into a firm quote in one tap once you have seen the board.
